Corrections Policy
Our dedication to truth and prompt, transparent rectification of errors in published news.
1. Commitment to Accuracy & Truth
BCN Network is committed to absolute accuracy in its reporting. However, in the fast-paced cycle of digital news, mistakes occasionally happen. When a factual error is discovered, BCN is committed to correcting it promptly, transparently, and in accordance with professional journalistic guidelines.
2. Error Reporting Process
We encourage our readers and the subjects of our stories to report any inaccuracies they identify. You can report a factual error by:
- Email: Sending a detailed email to corrections@bcnnetwork.in or grievance@bcnnetwork.in.
- Subject Line: Use the subject line "Correction Request: [Article Title]".
- Details Required: Please specify the article link, the incorrect statement, the corrected fact, and any supporting documentation or links that prove the error.
3. Correction Labeling Standards
To maintain transparency and readers trust, we do not simply overwrite factual mistakes quietly. We apply a clear labeling system:
- Correction Note: If a significant factual error is corrected, we will append a bold notice at the bottom of the article. E.g., "Correction: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated [X]. The correct fact is [Y]. We regret the error."
- Headline Errors: If the error was in the headline itself, the headline will be updated immediately, and a correction note will be prominently placed at the top of the article.
- Minor Typos: Minor spelling mistakes, punctuation fixes, or formatting updates that do not alter the facts or meaning of the story may be corrected without a formal correction note.
4. Post-Publication Update Procedures
For ongoing, developing stories:
- Developing Badge: We will clearly mark stories that are developing with indicators like "Developing" or "LIVE updates."
- Update Timestamps: We will show the exact date and time when the article was last modified (`Last Updated`) next to the original publication date.
- Clarification Notes: If an article is contextually correct but can be written more clearly to prevent misinterpretation, we will issue a "Clarification Note" describing the refinement.
5. Editorial Accountability
Our editorial board reviews all correction requests. Any systemic errors are analyzed, and corrective training is provided to the concerned writer or desk editor to prevent repeat occurrences.
